Dr. Mitchell is an Associate Clinical Professor in the School Counseling Program in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education, as well as an affiliate member of the Center for Transition and Career Innovation. She has worked as an administrator, professor, researcher, and practitioner in the school counseling profession. She is also a Board Certified Counselor. Highlights of her work include serving as the Student Services Executive Officer at PGCPS, and a School Counselor at AACPS. She is a published author whose research has focused on examining acculturation processes and the psychosocial factors that influence minority student academic achievement. Dr. Mitchell has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Counseling and Development and the National Membership Committee for the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition, she has been awarded and led Federal and State grant projects focused on expanding school counseling services and promoting college and career readiness among minority populations. Dr. Mitchell's service highlights include being a , serving on , serving on the 糖心少女University Senate and the 糖心少女Inaugural Steering Committee.
