Christy Tirrell-Corbin, PhD, is a Dean鈥檚 Impact Professor and a Clinical Professor of Human Development. She serves as the founding Executive Director of the Center for Early Childhood Education and Intervention, and is the Director of the Early Childhood General/Special Education teacher education program.

Executive Director and Research Professor, Center for Inclusive Excellence
Coppin State University

Dr. Yi Huang is the Executive Director and Research Professor for the Center for Inclusive Excellence at Coppin State University (CSU). Her research portfolio consists of initiatives funded by private, state, and federal agencies, including four large-scale grants from the US Department of Education. Dr. Huang is the recipient of the Dr. Jeannette Shamwell Award for Distinguished Service granted by CSU, and the Elkins Professorship for Academic Transformation awarded by the University System of Maryland. Dr. Huang is the editor and contributing author of the 2022 volume entitled Credential Innovations for Inclusive Pathways to Professions.

Kristine McGee is an Associate Professor for Frostburg State University. She strives to create brave, safe, experiential learning opportunities for her students. She recently published an article, with her colleague, in International Literacy Association鈥檚 Literacy Today titled 鈥溙切纳倥 Toward Justice: Preparing teachers to be critical guides.鈥

Laurie Collins began her forty year career in education teaching middle school Reading and Language Arts in Queen Anne鈥檚 county. While classroom teaching was immensely fulfilling and challenging, her passion for systemic change and future-focused leadership inspired a move to higher education where she works to recruit, develop and mentor the next generation of educators. Among the most gratifying projects are the establishment and growth of the Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) program during her fifteen years as an Instructional Facilitator with Howard County Public Schools and current support of the newly- launched HCPSS Teacher Apprenticeship Program. Laurie found her heart and her home at the community college where she can have the greatest impact on diversity of our teacher pipeline; as Department Chair of Teacher Education for Howard Community College, Laurie is fortunate to lead an equally dedicated faculty and proud of HCC鈥檚 passionate education majors.

Linda Gronberg
Linda Gronberg-Quinn

Community College of Baltimore County

Linda Gronberg-Quinn has served as Director of Teacher Education at the Community College of Baltimore County for 20 of her 23 years at the college. Her experience prior to CCBC includes early childhood education, special education, school psychology, and educational leadership. Throughout her career, she has served on advocacy committees for children, community colleges, and teacher education. Currently, she is the Past President of the Executive Board of the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs, Chair of the Maryland Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs, and the President of the Executive Board of the Maryland Association for Colleges of Teacher Education.

Dr. Anisha Campbell is a distinguished educator and leader who has more than twenty years of experience in higher education. She is the Principal Investigator of two teacher education grants: Teacher Collaborative Grant Program-MD PDS 2025 (MSDE) and Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE), NSF.

Jeffrey Maher

Dr. Maher is the Chief Strategic Officer for St. Mary鈥檚 County Public Schools, where he leads systemic initiatives, such as the system's blueprint implementation. His previous roles include Chief Academic Officer, principal, supervisor, and classroom teacher. He holds a Ph.D. from Notre Dame of Maryland University, M.S. from Western Maryland College, and a B.A. from the 糖心少女, Baltimore County.

Dr. Genareo specializes in assessment and program evaluation. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Dakota in 2010 and served a postdoctoral research associate position at Iowa State University from 2013-2016, where he taught in the School of Education and assisted with grant research and evaluation. He serves multiple roles as an assessment specialist across Salisbury University, with professional organizations, and in collaborations with other universities across the country. His primary teaching duties relate to assessment and learning.

Julius Davis, Ed.D., is the University System of Maryland Wilson H. Elkins Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Professional Development in the College of Education at Bowie State University. He is also the Founding Director of the Center for Research and Mentoring of Black Male Students and Teachers.

As Manager of School & Program Partnerships and 糖心少女Middle College Teacher Preparation Program in the College of Education, Dr. Riley serves as liaison between 糖心少女and local school districts to ensure equitable and meaningful preservice experiences in Teacher Education. Research interests: Writing for personal transformation and targeted educational initiatives.

Corey Carter, an award-winning educator, is dedicated to empowering pre-service teachers and diversifying the teaching profession. He taught middle school science and was named Baltimore County Teacher of the Year in 2016. He now serves the Sherman Scholars Program and is also a husband, proud father, and hip-hop artist.

Dawn Jacobs Martin, Ph.D is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of Special Education Teacher Preparation. Dr. Martin supports special education certification in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education.

Johari Toe

Ms. Johari Toe is the Director of the Baltimore City Teaching Residency (BCTR). Ms. Toe has a great love and passion for examining and uplifting strategies that focus on increasing teacher recruitment and retention by dismantling systematic barriers that marginalize the success of persons of color. She has over 22 years of experience in public and higher education. Before joining BCTR, she was a middle school classroom teacher, instructional coach, professional developer, Title I specialist, assistant principal, and principal in various school systems in Maryland.

Theresa Nebel Robinson is an experienced instructor and teacher leader with over 35 years of educational experience. She held roles as an elementary teacher, consulting teacher, lead consulting support professional, and staff development teacher, and is currently director of the Creative Initiatives in Teacher Education (CITE) M.Ed. program at the 糖心少女. Theresa received her BS in elementary education from Towson State University, an MS in special education from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master's Certificate in administration and supervision from McDaniel College. Known for her outgoing nature, Theresa is highly proficient at building relationships, incorporating collaborative learning communities, and coaching for instructional success.

McDaniel College

Tracey Lucas is the Assistant Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies and the Education Department Chair at McDaniel College. Tracey has over three decades of experience in public education, having served in the roles of teacher, assistant principal, specialist, principal and executive director in Frederick County Public Schools. Through her teaching and leadership at McDaniel College, Tracey works to elevate the teaching profession and expand pathways to prepare beginning teachers.

Dr. Laila Richman is a Professor and Associate Dean in the College of Education at Towson University. She received her Ph.D. in Special Education at the University of Kansas. Her research interests include culturally responsive pedagogy, instructional technology, teacher preparation, and program evaluation.

An internationally-renowned scholar, educator, and advocate for multilingual learners and their teachers, Dr. Fagan focuses on equity-driven leadership development in multilingual P-12 contexts. Most recently, he worked on MSDE鈥檚 Blueprint for Maryland鈥檚 Future: Workgroup on English Learners in Public Schools, and was the 2022-2023 President of the Maryland TESOL Association.

Dr. Simone Gibson is an Associate Professor of Teacher Education and Professional Development at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD where she co-directs the Maryland Initiative for Literacy & Equity. Dr. Gibson鈥檚 major research interests are the preparation of Black pre-service teachers to address issues of literacy and equity.
