Intergroup Dialogue Training Hub (InDi Training Hub)
Our Services
Our services are open to both those within ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®and beyond.
Whether you're an external partner or ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®faculty member, staff member, or student, we invite you to join us in fostering a culture of dialogue, understanding, and growth through the InDi Training Hub. Together, we can create meaningful change within our community. We proudly offer consultation, training and curriculum development services to internal and external partners, providing guidance and expertise on intergroup dialogue curricula, program development, and facilitation training.
What We Do
Course Offerings
We develop and teach short- and long-term undergraduate and/or graduate student courses to promote skills to participate in and/or facilitate inclusive dialogues. At UMD, we centralize the coordination of IGD training and capacity-building activities. For instance, we offer non-credit training intensives at no additional cost to campus units and for-credit facilitation skill development courses through courses like WEID300 and HESI671.
Training & Workshops
We tailor and host opportunities for professionals to learn how to lead inclusive dialogues, based on our partners’ needs and requests.
Consultations & Collaborations
We offer consultation and support to partners and units interested in developing dialogue-focused courses, initiatives, and programs to meet General Education requirements and program-specific outcomes. Some of current partners at ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®include Ed Abroad, the College of Engineering, Resident Life, and select living and learning programs. For example, our collaboration with the College of Engineering focuses on developing a dialogue course that explores the history of engineering, its impact on inequality within and across communities, and fosters critical thinking with social solutions in mind.
Research
The IGD Training Hub serves as a research site for faculty and students interested in conducting research on IGD pedagogy, practices, processes, and learning outcomes, contributing to the scholarly advancement of education across differences.
Ongoing Professional Development Resources
Via our informational materials and newsletters, we provide resources to encourage continuous growth in dialogical practices to address social issues within and outside the classroom.
